AVIXANTHIN 100

Avixanthin® 10 is a premixture containing 1 % canthaxanthin for use in poultry feed for egg yolk and skin pigmentation in combination with yellow xanthophylls as well as for use in aquaculture for flesh pigmentation; also in combination with astaxanthin.

Legal status:
Premixture (according to regulation (EC) 1831/2003), usage only for approved manufacturers of feeding stuff.

Description:
Free-flowing beige to grey powder. Canthaxanthin is encapsulated in a matrix of gelatine and carbohydrates, stabilised with antioxidants, and based on organic and inorganic carriers.

Recommended dosage:
Depending on the desired pigmentation effect the dosage varies:
Egg yolk pigmentation 50 to 700 g/1,000 kg
Skin pigmentation 50 to 400 g/1,000 kg
Aquaculture max. 2,500 g/1,000 kg

Activity:
min. 10 g canthaxanthin per kg

Drying loss:
max. 5 %

Shelf life:
Guaranteed contents for 18 months if kept under proper storage conditions in original packaging

Bulk density:
approx. 0.7 - 0.8 g/cm3

Solubility:
Not water soluble

Packaging:
4-fold paper bags with polyethylene layer with a net weight of 25 kg

Storage:
Keep tightly sealed in a cool and dry place
